September 2017 - Jet Yard was invited to speak at the Air Transport Action Group (ATAG) in Geneva, Switzerland on End of Life Aircraft. ATAG is the only global industry-wide body to bring together all aviation industry players so that they can speak with one voice – and it works to promote aviation’s sustainable growth for the benefit of our global society.

Tim Zemanovic, President of Jet Yard made a presentation on end of life aircraft and the importance of becoming a member of the Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association (AFRA). Mr. Zemanovic participated on a panel discussion with other industry leaders. The discussion focused on aircraft decommissioning and the process to achieve a sustainable and safe manner while maximizing the re-use of components and recycling valuable materials.

September 2017 - Kalitta Air contacted Jet Yard to recycle three Boeing 747-200 aircraft in Oscoda, MI. Kalitta is a recent member to the Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association (AFRA) and is seeing the benefits of working with an AFRA accredited company first hand.

The previous vendor could take as much as 30 days to recycle one 747 but the Jet Yard crew was able process all three aircraft or just over 900,000 lbs. of material in only 4 days. We had excellent support from the Kalitta crew and look forward to working with them on future projects.
